Tuesday's Random Ramblings: When Boys Make Plans

Oh yes ladies, another Tuesday's Random Ramblings from Yours Truly! I know you're beyond excited to read this bit of blogging gold! (Jokes...but let's be honest...)

It seems that whenever I have a Random Ramblings (which has only been one other time??) it's about my lovely boyfriend, Justin.

Maybe it's because I like talking about him. Or maybe it's because since being with him, he's opened my eyes to the strange world of MEN.

Pretty sure its the latter...

But anywho, this past Sunday, Justin and I hung out with one of his college roommates (and teammate) and his wife. The boys were in charge of making plans, which we know ladies, isn't always the best decision!

We met up with Jeff and Jess at church and made our way over to their casa afterwards. We decided to pick up some pizza and the boys wanted to watch the Tiger's. Ok, so far so good. Pretty normal guy-like plans, right?

Well here's the kicker. It was a BEAUTIFUL day outside and the boys thought to themselves: "Self, why don't we enjoy watching the Tiger's WHILE enjoying the great outdoors!"

Yes ladies, they brought the TV outside on the deck while we ate pizza. Ok, so it was a little odd, but we were fairly close to the house, so it wasn't that weird. Actually, it was a pretty good idea!

Then, Justin and Jeff decided it was too hot on the deck and they wanted to move into the shade. So what do they do? They grab an extension cord, hook the TV and a fan to it, and drag the whole shebang into the yard under a tree.

OY VEY!

The neighbors were out in their backyard showing, what I assumed to be, some friends their property. I'm pretty sure they were wondering what the hillbillies were doing with a TV and a fan in the middle of the backyard.

I will say, it was kind of nice. It was like we were at the Tiger's game! But at the same time, who hooks the television up to an extension cord and drags it out into the back yard?? Only boys!

And this is why I have loved every single second of the last two years and three months with this man.

He may have some of the wildest ideas, but it's always an adventure with him! Let's be honest ladies, who wants to date a bore anyways?

Week in Review Instagram Style

Normally, I would have a full-fledged post for a Monday, but since the weekend isn't over (thank you Memorial Day!) here's a mini-post to hold you all over until tomorrow. Here's a little recap of my week (nothing too exciting) via Instagram.

Follow Me! My username is jenna__anne. (That's two underscores ya'll)

On Tuesday, Justin and I were going to get Dairy Queen (my absolutely favorite) when we drove past this little guy. I live out in the boondocks by a bunch of swamp land and turtles are always crossing the road in the summertime. So I've taken it upon myself to be a turtle rescuer. No one likes a run over turtle in the middle of the road. I know, I know, I'm a great person.

This is what I get to see on my runs. And this is also why I cannot run inside. Why be bored to tears and stare at a nasty wall when you're dying when you can look at all this beauty! And yes, that is a deer hiding in the trees on the bottom right.

Charlie. My poor baby has been at the vet all week. He came home on Wednesday and had to go back Friday morning. I won't go into details since you all probably don't care to hear about a cat and his urinary tract infection, but it was pretty bad! Can't wait until this male diva gets home on Tuesday. I didn't realize what a crazy cat lady I am until he got sick. So sad of me...

My babies! We had a cookout on Friday for the little one's and spent plenty of time outside. We cleaned out the outdoor playhouse for them and hooked a sprinkler up for them to run through. I'm sure their mothers were thrilled we let them get soaking wet with their tennis shoes on...oh well! I love my job and I love my kiddos more than anything!

I got to spend plenty of time with my handsome boyfriend this weekend. We celebrated his brothers birthday Friday evening, had a picnic dinner at the local Metropark on Saturday, and spent plenty of time soaking up the sun at the beach on Sunday. Justin has quite the baseball tan going on thanks to all his coaching, so his not so tan areas got extra crispy. Oops!

Maybe next week I'll make an appearance in my Instagram pictures. I guess I'm not one for taking pictures of myself... but I'll work on it! Heck, I need to work on taking more pictures, period! I promise next week will be better.

Yay for a paid day off! I'm excited to spend some quality time with my best cousin, Cara today! Lunch at Panera and soaking up the rays by the pool is my kind of day. I hope you're all enjoying your Memorial Day weekend!

I Got My Toes In The Water

Ladies, I've been reading for some time now about all of your beach escapades and I was so so jealous. Well, this weekend it was finally time for us Michiganders to hit the beach!

With 80+ degree weather, my madre and I hit the beach on Saturday!

Well, not exactly a beach beach. More like a grassy beach on a small lake.

But the point is, I finally got to lay outside and get my tan on! While turning into a Sun Goddess, I decided a blog post all about my beach essentials would be the perfect way to start off the summer!

Obviously, the very first thing you need is a bathing suit! This isn't Europe, people! Cover the goods up! I'm pretty obsessed with bikinis and am always pulled to the Swimwear section of Target as soon as they set it up in early January. {Oh yes! I've been meaning to pick up a new swimsuit since its the arctic tundra outside!} I'm a freak about tan lines so I stick to bikini tops that are strapless or have detachable straps.

A cute cover-up is always a necessity! Saturday, I used this cotton dress from Target as a cover-up. It's light weight and colorful and I got a lot of compliments!

I feel like I need to add sunscreen on this list, even though I hate it. {I know, I know. I'm awful!} The main reason I hate it is because it irritates my sensitive skin, especially my face. But don't be getting your panties in a bunch, I still wear the awful stuff. I've found a sunscreen brand that works well for my skin and doesn't make my face feel like my skin is melting off.

I love Hawaiian Tropic Sunscreen! And they have the best tanning oil {with SPF 15} that I have ever found!

And, in my opinion, the most important beach {or pool} essential is a good read! This is where I need your help, ladies! I don't know what to read! {And PLEASE don't recommend Fifty Shades of Gray...NOT my style!} I must confess that I am currently reading Lauren Conrad's second book Sweet Little Lies {and yes, that means I read the first book, too} but I am looking for a good summer read! Last summer, I read every single Nicholas Sparks book and I'm so upset there are no more for me to indulge in! What are some of your favorite summer reads? I need something amazing to download on my Kindle Fire!

Next weekend can't come quick enough. I'm in need of another day out in the sun!

Happy Monday, ladies! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Confessional Friday

1) I confess that I want to quit my job right at this very moment and never see another Toddler in my entire life. (Yes, it's been one of those days.) Yes, I know that the kids I work with lack any type of positive parenting, but does it really take a ton of effort to teach your child it's not okay to scratch the skin off another child every 3 seconds?!? It's days like today I wish we could give time outs (stupid non-disipline policy).

2) I am so beyond excited for an 80+ degree day tomorrow. You better believe I'll be laying next to our pool (that isn't open yet, oh well!) getting my tan on. I've been waiting for this since last summer!!

3) I feel like I broke that whole "respect your elders" rule last night, but it was for a good reason! I was at Justin's baseball game last night when a 40 year old woman from the opposing team murmered the word I hate the most. It literally makes my blood boil and gives me that fighting feeling in the pit of my stomach. She was mad at the ump for some reason (didn't know she was a coach?) and thought it would be appropriate to call him (a black man) a racial slur. I turned around so fast I gave myself whiplash. I put in my two cents about her choice of language and she didn't make another peep. IT'S 2012 PEOPLE!!!!

4) I download the MyFitnessPal app on my iPhone and I've become obsessed with the number of calories I consume in a day. This may not be healthy....

5) My lunch break is over so all of the seventy-thousand other confessions I have will just have to wait until next week!

Link up with Leslie over at A Blonde Ambition to share your confessions!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Guilty Pleasure

I have a confession.

I have a guilty pleasure that is a tad on the pricey side. I can't help it. It's like it calls my name, or more like sings it in the voice of a beautiful, glowing angel.

I'm obsessed with a designer.

MICHAEL KORS!

Obsessed. Beyond obsessed. Since I'm a year out of college, I can't justify buying MK full price, and honestly can't afford it, but eBay and TJ Maxx are my best friends. I can spot a MK bag from a mile away in those messy purse racks at TJ's. It's a sickness really.

Here are some MK items that I'm dying to have:

{via}
Tortoiseshell Watch. I've been scouring the web for a good deal on this watch. And by scouring I mean, obsessively stalking EVERY night! If any of you beautiful and kind followers want to gift me something, this would be it! GRACIAS! Jokes! But I would gracious take it if you were feeling generous

{via}
Hamilton Large Tote. I love MK bags. I bought my first MK bag four summers ago and I still use it to this day (and it still looks like new). MK bags tend to be timeless, which is always a plus if you're going to be 'investing' in one.

{via}
MICHAEL Tiered Maxi Skirt. I'm really liking maxi skirts for summer. The Bohemian silhouette of this
skirt gives it the perfect casual look.

{via}
Turnlock Bracelet. I've seen quite a few bracelets with the turnlock clasps and I really like them! Super unique and cute. And look! It matches the watch I need want! (Hint, hint)

{via}
Sicily Aviator Sunglasses. Oh, what I wouldn't give for these sunnies!

Do you have a designer that you can't resist?

Kreativ Blogger Award

Wow! Second day in a row that I've been nominated for an award! The lovely Krista over at A Serious Southern Shopaholic nominated me for the Kreativ Blogger Award. You guys all need to go check out her blog like RIGHT NOW! She has the best style.

Like all awards, there are rules. But, I'm going to break the rules tonight.
1) Because I did the whole shebang last night
AND
2) I have some other things to do right now and don't have the time.
But I wanted to thank Krista so very much for actually reading my blog (who knew anyone did that!) and thinking of me when picking her nominees! When I get some extra time, I'll pass the award on.

And for real...go check out her blog!
