Friday's Letters

Photobucket

Dear Friday, I'm so glad you're here! A day off of work and a big date night with the fiancĂ© is perfection. Maybe I should be working out, getting this bod in tip top shape for date night, but instead I'm eating pretzel M&Ms and planning my attack on finding the perfect outfit for tonight. Dear Work, I really appreciate all of these days off and random snow days, but I haven't had a full paycheck since December. Homegirl has a wedding to pay for, and lets not even mention my spending habits. Dear PF Changs, I hope you're ready to bring your A-game tonight (but when do you not?) Get the calamari and Asian Pear Mojitos ready. Dear My Strange Addiction, you are seriously the weirdest show ever but I can't turn you off! A lady who licks her cat? Homeboy who's in love with his inflatable pool toy? So disturbing yet so entertaining. You make me feel like some sick and twisted human being. Dear New Followers, Welcome to Yours Truly! There have been a whole lot of you the past couple of weeks, and I am so glad to have you around! Dear Cat, Lose some weight, Charlie. Those pretty girl cats aren't going to like all that hangage in your midsection. Dear Lovelies, Have a fabulous weekend!

Friday's Letters

{via}
Dear J, I've really been enjoying spending so much time with you over my two-week Christmas break. I think this whole getting hitched thing won't be half bad (insert cheesetastic winky face). I'm excited for our date night and some quality "us-time". Dear Work, Only three more days until I have to go back to you, and I must say, I'm dreading it. This just confirms that we should probably part ways at the end of my contract. Dear Jeweler, I'm counting on you to call me today, letting me know that my engagement ring is ready to be picked up. You've had it for almost two weeks...I think it's time. Dear Michigan Winter, I love the white snow outside, but yikes! Does it really need to be this cold? The Arctic Tundra has arrived. Dear Perfect Aztec Print Cardigan,  You can show up in my closet any day now. How hard can it be for a girl on a wedding budget to find you at a decent price?! Dear Blog, I have a feeling we might be taking you in a different direction in the near future. That direction, I'm still unsure about. All I know is that I'm not entirely happy with you. I have a few good ideas for you, so let's see where we end up! Dear Readers, If you have an idea or something you would like to see more of on this little blog of mine, help a sister out and leave a comment! I would love to hear what you would like to see on Yours Truly.

Happy Friday, lovelies!

Friday's Letters

You guys, this week has been exhausting, mentally and emotionally. You have no idea how thankful I am that it is Friday and I get a break from work. This week was the first week since I've started my new job that I've been completely honest with myself, and that has been emotionally draining. And to top it all off, yesterday on my way out of work, I ran into one of my toddlers from my previous job and his mom (his sister goes to school where I currently work). I haven't seen my baby since my last day at Time for Tots and it was so great to see him. You know I held him the entire time I was talking with his mom, and lots of kisses were given! (I'm so thankful that all of the mothers of my toddlers didn't think my obsession with their children was creepy.) While it made my soul so happy to see him, it left me in tears and just reinforced my thoughts and feelings from the week. Let me explain a little bit of what's been going on internally this week with some letters...

Dear Work, I had a hard time transitioning into this new experience and honestly, I still am having a hard time. I thought I would enjoy my new position, but the truth is, I'm not. You'll never compare to my previous job at Time for Tots. Sitting at a desk and "building a relationship" with families over the phone or through letters will never be as fulfilling as establishing a true relationship face-to-face like I was able to with my Time for Tots families. I'm not the least bit worried or upset that my position may be cut when the program switches grantees. I may or may not be thinking about not renewing my contract once August rolls around.... Dear Supervisor, I almost walked out of the meeting when you finally admitted to the other site directors that I'm pretty much a glorified assistant who gets all of your overflow work. Dear Director, I'm flattered that you think so highly of me, but I cannot believe that you picked the new girl to be part of the assessment team for the programs annual self-assessment. You may have forgotten that I've only been here for a month and a half and I'm still learning about the program. The fact that I have to assess a program I hardly know makes me sick to my stomach. Don't blame me if you don't get the findings you want! Dear Time for Tots, Come back? Please?? It's heartbreaking to have a passion for a program that doesn't exist anymore. Dear Self, Keep your head up. Even though you may not be happy with the way things are going, you're still needed at work. The homeless families and their kiddos who came with you to the new school from Time for Tots need your love and support, because it's apparent that no one else really cares about them.

I apologize for the Debbie Downer letters. Just one of those "gotta get it off my chest" moments.

Have a great weekend, lovelies!

Friday's Letters

Dear Blog, sorry I've been neglecting you and all of my favorite blogs this week. Starting a new job is no easy task! I promise that once I get used to my schedule, I'll show you some love again. Dear New Job, what am I even doing? I'm still unsure of what my job description is. I'll just have to keep on doing whatever my supervisor tells me to do until I figure things out. Also, if you wouldn't mind livening up the office a bit, I would be forever grateful. It's not easy going from a room full of crazy loud toddlers to complete silence. Dear Babies, ugh I miss you all so much. I've been having the worst time with this new transition. I mean, I have an emotional breakdown every other day! I can't wait to see some of you (pre-schoolers) today when you come to visit Head Start! At least my heart will be half full :) Dear New Supervisor, thank you for telling me the most dramatic story yesterday about a child and making my heart break only to say "But that wasn't real life. I saw it on Private Practice." Really?? Dear Justin, thank you for all your love and support. I know I've been a real Debbie Downer this past week, but all of those hugs while I'm crying over my babies means more than you know. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you, knowing that you'll always be there for me. Dear Sunday, please bring beautiful weather and gorgeous fall colors for our engagement pictures. Thanks a bunch!

Dear Jenna, get it together! This next week is going to be tough and it's going to be so difficult to say goodbye to my babies, but the new adventure and the new job opportunity I have will be amazing. I gotta keep looking on the bright side! Dear Charlie, you have been the creepiest cat ever lately. Stop acting like you see ghosts while I'm home alone. Dear Jillian Michaels, my muscles will never be the same. Dear Spring Arbor University, thanks but no thanks for calling my phone at 12:57 AM Thursday morning letting me know about a sexual assault on campus. I agree that it's extremely important to let everyone know about the sicko lurking around campus, but I graduated over a year ago. I think it's safe to take me off your phone list. Dear Justin, you're handsome. That's all. Dear Bloggy Friends, don't forget to take advantage of getting 50% off all sponsor spots with the promo code THANK YOU, and while you're at it, enter my Favorite Things Giveaway!

Have a fabulous weekend!

Friday's Letters

Dear Pinky Toe, why did you have to slam yourself into the air vent and spilt your toe nail in half? I can't even look at you without getting nauseous. Just go ahead and fix yourself while I keep you covered with a band-aid. Dear Toddlers, cool it with the attitudes and fighting. I understand you're all going through your terrible twos stage, but you're getting a little out of control. Dear Charlie, you're a cat, not a human. Stop growling at me and attacking my feet in the middle of the night when I move. You don't own my bed. Get over yourself.  Dear House, be a doll and clean/pack yourself. While you're at it, find us a place to live too since we have to be out in two weeks. YIKESSS! Dear Fall, HURRY UP! This cooler weather is a tease. I'm so ready for boots and scarves. Oh, and Pumpkin Spice Latte's! Dear Life, I wish you would slow down a bit or just freeze for a couple days. All these big changes are coming too quickly and I'm just not ready. Dear Blog, you're so close to 300 followers! That makes my little heart so happy.

Have a wonderful weekend, lovelies!

Friday's Letters

Photobucket

Dear Weekend, every good Friday's Letters needs to start off with you. I am happy to see you have finally arrived, although I'm not too excited about your events. Or maybe just one event in particular. You know what I'm talking about. That certain co-worker's wedding? Listen, I'm all about weddings, but they're not exactly fun when you don't really care for the person getting married. Go ahead, weekend, tell me I'm an awful person. Just being honest! Dear Right Ear, I know I was asking for it when I shoved that earring through you, but could you kick the infection and heal already? Gracias! Dear Justin, three things: 1) Thank the good Lord above that this is your last weekend of coaching hours and hours away. I know you love baseball, but I love you more and would really like to have my boyfriend back on the weekends! 2) {No} Thank you for scaring me the other night while I was watching School Spirits. I'm surprised I didn't pee my pants. 3) Thank you for being my rock. With all this change going on in my life the past year, you've always been there to lean on. I can't thank you enough for making my heart happy when it has been filled with sadness. Dear Jenna, let's move on from the sappiness, will ya? Dear KMurf, I am so beyond happy for you! I know it's been a long and difficult year of job searching and dead ends, but you've finally landed your dream job! No one deserves this more than you! Dear Manicurist, you did a great job on my Shellac manicure, but I don't appreciate you pointing out my extra dry skin. Telling me to stop washing my hands a lot and "germs never hurt anyone" made me want to punch you in the face. Please, let me see you not wash your hands 50x a day when you're working with snot-nosed, dirty children and changing countless diapers! Dear Vacation,  you're so close! I can't wait to not work for an entire week! Dear Followers, you ladies are the bomb.com. All of your sweet comments leave a smile on my face. I'm so glad I started this little ol blog of mine just four months ago and met so many lovely ladies. Y'all know how to make a girl happy!

Have a great weekend!
