Bows Bows Bows

Bows. Just add them to the long list of my obsessions. Bows in hair, bows on clothes, bows on jewelry -- I'm a sucker for it all. I was once told that bows are for children and it looks silly on grown women. We agreed to disagree and bows still hold a soft spot in my heart. If done right, bows add just the right touch of femininity to any outfit or hairstyle. I like bows on ruffles, lace, and pastel colors, but I also really love bows paired with edgier outfits. There is just so much you can do with them!

Here Comes the Sun

I know I'm not the only one begging for Spring to walk in the door. It has officially hit that depressing time of year here in Michigan -- the sun hasn't shined in months. That's not a lie. You think it's sunny outside until you look up and realize it's actually overcast but just not as cloudy and dreary as usual. This Michigan weather shiz just makes my desire to move South almost unbearable.

But since moving is not an option right now, I've gotta deal with the end of these ugly winter months somehow! So I spend too much time every day dreaming about all things Spring -- flowers blooming, greenery coming to life, sunshine on my skin, and let's not forget Spring fashion. Here are a couple looks I'm loving for the Spring.

Oh, How Pinteresting!

Lately, I've been very, dare I say -- inspired -- by fashion. I've always been interested in fashion and have had a love for putting pieces together to create the perfect look, but this love has moved to another level. I guess you could say I've become obsessed. I find myself laying in bed, dreaming of the perfect outfit paired with the perfect accessories and the perfect make up. It's been taking up a lot of my free thinking time. So in honor of me becoming a walking, talking, fashion-crazed psycho, OHP will be solely dedicated to my recent fashionista pins.

Maybe one day when I'm not living on a Social Worker's salary I'll be able to spend my days in stores and boutiques and shop until my Pinterest closet becomes my real life closet. Maybe. Who am I kidding? I'll be 80 by the time that happens....

The Messy Project Revealed!

The day in finally here when The Messy Project can finally be revealed! I'm sure most of you have been hearing some buzz over this mystery project for quite some time. It's been difficult keeping my mouth shut about this, but I am so excited to say the wait it over!!! So you might be asking yourself, "What is The Messy Project?" Kelly, the brains (and beauty) behind this amazing project summed The Messy Project up perfectly!

"I can look at a top and style it completely different than someone else would...and to me that's cool. One of the main reasons I love fashion is because you can make it your own. Everyone can have the same exact clothes but the way you style it and wear it is your choice. It gives you a chance to express your inner fashionista. When I started blogging about 6 months ago I wanted to find a fun way to interact with other bloggers doing something different than anybody else. Something to convey who we are. To show our style. To Put our creative minds to work. To express our inner Fashionista. So The Messy Project was born. The Deal: 1 top, 5 girls, 5 different looks, 1 major blog post day."

Pretty great idea, huh? I was so excited to participate in The Messy Project that I was (not so) patiently waiting for a package to arrive from Kelly. And when it did, this is what I found...

The Messy Project Top - Forever 21

I knew instantly that I wanted to keep the styling of this piece simple. To me, this top is a statement piece. Sheer, flowy and bright! Perfect for summer and perfect for a simple summer outfit. So I paired this top with a pair of white shorts, wedges, and minimal jewelry.

I'm embarrassed of my chipped toe nail polish, so please overlook it!

I'm pretty much obsessed with my Renegade Cluster Stella & Dot bracelet!
I'm all about simple and clean when it comes to my style. When I'm wearing a fun and flirty top like The Messy Project top, I like to keep all other aspects of my outfit clean and simple! I am all about statement necklaces these days, but since this top has an adorable tie collar, I opted for no necklace.

Curious to see what the other ladies of The Messy Project did with their top? Go check them out!
and the brains behind it all...

Happy Wednesday, lovelies!
