Weekend Highs and Lows

Happy Monday, ladies! Here's to hoping that week three at the new job has a little more in store for me so I'm not staring out the window for 8.5 hours a day.

Highs

*Justin and I spent some quality time with friends Friday night celebrating my lovely friend, Paige's, birthday. You could say we had some fun...

* Justin and I got a little preview of our engagement pictures. We should be getting the entire disk later this week. Obviously I'm super critical of myself and didn't like a couple of the one's we were sent, but here are two of my favorite preview pictures.

Low

* I sent Justin a link to this gorgeous Michael Kors watch that I found for a steal on eBay as a suggestion for my Christmas present, and he deleted it immediately! How dare he!

Weekend Highs and Lows

{via}
Week two of the new job and I'm already exhausted. I think it would be a great idea if someone would create a day between Sunday and Monday that is solely dedicated to sleeping. Sleepday. Who's with me?!

Onto my weekend highs and lows...

Highs

*J and I took our engagement pictures yesterday! It wasn't the best day weather wise; cloudy, windy, and maybeeee 40 degrees. But we had so much fun. Our photographer was hilarious and made us feel super comfortable. Even Justin got into it...so presh! Despite the cloudiness, the sun peaked out near the end and gave us the perfect fall lighting. I can't wait to get the pictures back next week and show you all!

*I bought fleece-lined tights for our engagement photos. Ladies, you need to go out and buy yourself a pair ASAP. Ah-maze-balls. So warm. So soft. So perfect.

*I brought to Justin's attention how great he looks in a sweater. I'm on a mission to prep this boy up. Now, I think he'll be more open to my Christmas and birthday presents of sweaters and other fashionable items that need to be in his closet. I'm going to start a Pinterest board dedicated to his closet make-over.

Lows

*Our apartment complex is being re-roofed and the roofers decided it was time to work outside of my bedroom window at 9 o'clock, Saturday morning. I just wanted one morning to sleep my face off...but nooooo. Cussing each other out, singing terribly, stomping on my ceiling.... give. me. a. break. Can't a girl get some peace and quiet around here?

What were your weekend highs and lows?

And all of you lovelies over on the East Coast....stay safe! I'll be praying for you all!

Weekend Highs and Lows

Welp, today is my first day at my new job! It always sucks being the new girl, but I'm pretty excited to start this new journey. Fingers crossed that I don't make a complete fool out of myself on my very first day!

Here are my weekend highs and lows...

Highs

*My mom and I went shopping this weekend for big girl clothes. So. Much. Fun. Since I was working in the classroom with toddler at my last job, I was able to wear whatever I wanted, so long as I wasn't dressed like I just left work at a strip club. It was all about being in comfortable clothes that I wouldn't mind getting messy. I'm excited to wear pencil skirts and dresses and heels to work now. I even have my "first day of work" outfit all picked out. I feel like I'm going back to school!

*I got an e-mail Friday night from my new boss letting me know that my position is moving to full time! I was hired in as a part-time employee and was told that eventually the position would move to full-time once a new grantee was found for the program. I never imagined that the position would move to full-time so soon! It is definitely a huge blessing, since we're beginning our wedding planning.

*I bought the two most amazing pair of boots yesterday. This event, alone, deserves it's own high. A pair of black, knee-high heeled boots and a pair of camel booties, all for $50. I die. I'll post pictures this week because I love them that much.

Lows

*Saying goodbye to my babies and co-workers on Friday was heartbreaking. I was a mess all day long. I absolutely loved my job and couldn't imagine ever leaving anytime soon, so when we received the news that we had lost funding and were closing a month and a half later, I was crushed. Ugly crying...all day long.

*I was in such a great mood after a fun day of shopping with my mom on Saturday until homegirl backed into my stopped car in the Costco parking lot. To make matters worse, she was probably in her late 50s and got out of her car with the most fake pouty-duck face. I almost slapped her. "I'll admit, that was completely my fault." No shit, Sherlock! Welp, at least I'll have money to fix the damage now that my job is full-time!

How was your weekend?!

Weekend High & Low + Pinktober Giveaway!

It's Monday, again! You think I would be used to it by now, since Monday always comes after Sunday, but... ya know! Let's get into weekend highs and lows!

High

* My uncle who lives in Seattle came in this weekend to surprise my grandma for her birthday. We only get to see him once a year, so it's always special to get to spend time with him.

* I ate so much delicious food this weekend. Was it healthy? Heck no! Did I gain 10lbs? Probably. Do I care? Not the least bit. I love eating. That's it, that's all! Thank you God for my amazing metabolism!

* I finally scheduled mine and Justin's engagement pictures after playing phone tag with the photographer for over a week. Fingers crossed that all the leaves don't fall off the trees before we get them done!

Low

* I really don't have any! Yay for a low-free weekend!

Weekend High & Low

Before I get into my weekend highs and lows, I have some exciting news! Last week I mentioned that I had a job interview on Thursday for a Family Services Worker position through the county's Head Start program. Welp, my interview was awful. The questions were really vague and my answers were beyond awkward, but lucky for me, the director of Head Start had already made up her mind after my current bosses recommendation, and she offered me the position on the spot! You have no idea how relieved I was. I'm really excited for this new opportunity and I really think I'm going to love it. So thank you to every single one of you for your prayers and good ju-ju.

And now...

The highs and lows of my weekend...

High

*I talked Justin into going to an apple orchard on Saturday, which really wasn't that hard to do. What a good fiance! We saw some adorable animals, picked up some apples for an apple pie, and Justin even let me take a silly picture of him...

My Betty Crocker moment
*I ordered LiLash Purified Eyelash Serum and it finally arrived this weekend! Bring on the long and luxurious lashes. I've heard good things about this "liquid magic" so I'll keep you all updated!

*I got to fill my belly with my favorite Chicken Tortilla Soup this weekend. Really, it's the small things in life...

*Yours Truly finally hit 400 followers this weekend! (Thank you, Kelly!) In honor of 400 followers, I'm offering 50% off all ad spaces until I feel like deleting the promo code. My ad prices are already super low, so take full advantage of it! Click here to check out my ad packages and use the promo code THANK YOU to get 50% off! Also, keep your eyes open for my Favorite Things Giveaway later this week! Just another way to thank all of you beautiful ladies.

Low

*I'm sick. Boo!

Weekend Highs & Lows

Happy Monday lovelies! Before I get into my weekend highs and lows, I need any of you Michigan bloggers to help a sista out! Does anyone know a fabulous yet affordable photographer in the Ann Arbor/Detroit area? I want to get engagement pictures underway, but the only photographer I found that doesn't take super cheesetastic pictures is not only booked until November, but she charges and arm and a leg. And while I'm on the topic of cost, all you married/engaged ladies, if you don't mind me asking, how much did you spend on engagement pictures? I have no idea what I'm doing with all this wedding planning shiz and I need all of your tips and tricks!

Moving on...

In college, my friends and I used to do daily highs/lows during dinner's in the dining commons. If you've never participated in high/lows here are the rules (because they're rules for everything apparently!):

1) You share the high of your day and the low of your day.
2) You can have multiple highs and lows, BUT you must have more highs than lows. Positivity, people!

And that's that!

The highs and lows of my weekend...

High

*Justin and I finally got to take some time to celebrate our engagement, just the two of us. I love going on dates with that man.

*Real Housewives of New Jersey reunion. Oh, I love that hot mess. Could Teresa be anymore of a psychotic lunatic if she tried?

*I had good intentions of being productive on Saturday, but only did half of what was on my list. I LOVED IT! It was so nice to spend my entire afternoon laying on the couch watching Giuliana and Bill.

Low

*I almost bought the perfect Michael Kors sweater dress at Marshall's on Saturday, until my conscious kicked in and I felt guilty for spending $50 on a sweater dress when I need to be saving for a wedding. Ugh, I'm not good at saving...

Now it's your turn! Share with me your highs and lows of the weekend.
