Fill in the Blank Friday

1.  My bedtime routine includes, brush my teeth, wash my face, lay in bed while I stalk twitter, facebook, instagram, and blogger, roll over and fall asleep....boring.

2.   I am impatiently waiting for Justin to get here so we can go out to eat (a.k.a. I really need a drink after my emotional day at work!)

3.  I can't stand the smell of peanut butter because well, I'm allergic to all nuts. It makes sense really. But peanut butter smells like straight up poison to me!

4. My idea of relaxation would be getting a massage and then chillin' poolside, getting my tan on. Really, at this point, my idea of relaxation would be anything not associated with work!

5. If I had an extra $50, I would go shopping, obviously. Is this even a serious question?? I'm a shopaholic!

6. The best thing about a bloggy friend is they always have the nicest things to say! Their sweet comments always makes me smile.

7.  A recipe I've been dying to try is Cinnamon Roll Pancakes. Does that not sound amazing? I would rather have someone else make them for me, but I'll attempt them if I have to.

Link up with Lauren to fill in the blanks!

Have a great weekend!!

Confessional Friday

1) I had an eclair and a handful of goldfish for dinner last night at 10:30pm. I know, I'm really healthy.

2) I cheat on my timesheet every week. I'm always late to work (ummm I live half an hour away and it takes me a while to get ready in the morning... I have a legit excuse) and I usually leave early. But we all do, so don't judge me!

3) I almost had a breakdown the other night when our satellite went out and I couldn't watch the newest episode of Giuliana & Bill. a) It was a long day and b) I really, really love G&B

4) There are two toddlers in my classroom that I wish so badly I could adopt. Sometimes Every day, I daydream about what it would be like if I was able to raise them as my own. It's kind of creepy...

5) It was so hard for me to not go shopping at all this week. I've become way too addicted lately and spent way too much money on my birthday shopping spree. Good thing it's pay day!

6) My cat chewed a hole in my iPhone charger so I switched my cord with my brother's. But that's what he gets for being a pain in my butt...

Link up with Leslie over at A Blonde Ambition to share your confessions!

Just Workin' on My Fitness

So, I've been getting PRETTY serious about my fitness these days. This is a huge deal since in the past I haven't been able to commit to working out consistently for more than a few weeks. This is because:

A) I'm lazy
B) I hate working out
C) I'm lazy
AND
D) Did I mention I HATE working out???

I've been working out pretty regularly for about two months now. Unfortunately, the past couple weeks I've been busy in the evenings so my workouts were really infrequent, but I made the conscious decision to not let that stop me!

Am I not the most athletic person you have ever seen??

Here is my problem with working out. I just flat out HATE it! I hate gyms. They're always too expensive and I hate people watching me while I look like a freak pretending to know what I'm doing. And I hate sweating. It drives me insane.

I work out in the evenings after work and sometimes, ok all the time, I'm exhausted. Chasing around eight toddlers, breaking up fights (yes, my kids fight like it's their job), and tending to every child's need is EXHAUSTING! Most of the time, I just want to go home, lay on the couch, and never get up! This really puts a damper on my motivation!

Some people say "Oh I love the way I feel when I'm running. I feel like I'm doing something so great for my body." Let's be honest here people, do you really love feeling like you're dying?!?

Ok, I am a bit dramatic about this whole working out deal, that's just me!

But, as much as I hate running, that's my workout of choice (ironic, huh?). Now, I'm not one of those marathon runners! Three miles, TOPS! This week, I started running at a park near my house. They have a trail that is 2.8 miles, and that's good enough for me! One day I'll build up enough endurance to be able to run without wanting to collapse at the end.

After running, I do 2 ten minute workouts targeting specific body parts. For example, yesterday I did arms and butt and today I will do abs and legs. I use these nifty little iPhone apps for these workouts:

I use my iPhone for EVERYTHNG!

I'm not a crazy, obsessed fitness guru, but I think it is important to take care of your body. I haven't done the best job at doing so in the past, but it's never too late! Nothing feels better than knowing that you're taking care of yourself.

What is your favorite workout?

Latest Obsessions

Today while my toddlers we're taking a nap, I was trying to stay awake/pretending to be working (but really just Facebook stalking) when I started to make a mental list of everything I've become obsessed with the past couple of weeks. And since I have this so-called list, it only makes sense to blog about it!

So here you go people...my latest obsessions:

1. Hope in a Jar for Dry Skin

While this little gem isn't exactly cheap, it is AMAZING. I have eczema, so not only is my skin super sensitive to products, but its unbelievably dry (like Sahara desert dry). This moisturizer does wonders for my dry, sensitive skin. I smooth it over my face every night and my skin still feels moisturized in the morning! It is a rich facial moisturizer, and for me, is too heavy for the day time, but perfect for overnight.

2. Fishtail Braids

Really, I've been obsessed with fishtail braids for a while now, but since I rocked one today, I thought I would post about it. It took me a while to master the fishtail, and many YouTube videos, but I did it! I have really fine hair, so if my hair is straight or clean, a fishtail braid won't stay. I usually wear a fishtail braid the day after I let my hair be naturally curly (I usually wash my hair every other day). The extra texture of curly hair helps to make my fishtail braid last all day.

3. Statement Necklaces

I absolutely love this J. Crew bubble necklace, but the $150 pricetag is outrageous! I mean, I love it but not that much! After some searching the web, I found a replica on Ebay for about $30. It's going to be mine! Let's be honest people, does anyone really care if the necklace around my neck is J. Crew or a knock-off? Because I sure don't!

4. Chobani Greek Yogurt

Once you go Greek, you never go back. That's a saying, right?!? But seriously, Greek yogurt is so much better than that regular stuff. I eat a Chobani every morning... every morning. Strawberry is my personal fav, delish! Greek yogurt is thicker and creamier than normal yogurt and has twice the protein! Yum!

5. Sephora Facial Brush

I had been looking at the Clairsonic Mia facial brush for some time, but again with the pricetag, ridiculous! I had dinner with a friend when she told me that she picked up this little gem at Sephora for $5! The next time I was at the mall, I went to Sephora and picked one up. For $5, this facial brush is amazing. My skin legitimately feels cleaner and smoother! And the best part is you use less facial cleanser since the brush really helps lather it up!

What are your latest obsessions?

Birchbox!

FINALLY! After months and months of waiting (ok, really only three weeks), I finally got an e-mail yesterday letting me know it was time for me to sign up to start receiving a monthly Birchbox!!

For those of you who may have never heard of Birchbox, here is a little information about it from the e-mail I received:

"As a Birchbox member, every month you'll receive samples from the best beauty, grooming and lifestyle brands. Plus, you'll get access to expert advice to help you get the most out of your samples. Buy full-size versions of your favorites in the Birchbox Shop and earn loyalty points with every purchase."

I first heard about the Birchbox while reading The Small Things Blog. I immediately went to the Birchbox website to sign up! Now, there is a waitlist, so I did have to wait three weeks to sign up. But you can go to the website, give them your e-mail address, and they will e-mail you when it's your turn to sign up!

There are two different options for a membership. One is a yearly fee of $110, or, the option I chose, a monthly fee of $10. With the monthly membership, you can choose to end your subscription at any time with no hassle!

I am beyond excited to receive my first Birchbox and see what gems are tucked away inside! There's nothing I love more than trying different beauty products!
