Friday Favorites

Dare I say...it's already Friday?!?! It's been a crazy week, but now that it's Friday, I've realized just how quickly it went by. I'm definitely not complaining about that! I've been such a bad blogging friend this week! I've been terrible at responding to everyone, I'm sorry! I promise next week will be better!

Well, to kick off the weekend, I'm linking up with The Bargain Blonde for FRIDAY FAVORITES!

{favorite snack}

Yasso Frozen Greek Yogurt! My love for greek yogurt (which I eat on the daily) is now frozen! I can eat these all day. The blueberry is my personal favorite, but I'm not hating on the strawberry either. I can eat these bad boys and not feel like I need to go run twenty-thousand miles. It feels nice to 'indulge' without being unhealthy.

{favorite new show}

Beverly Hills Nannies. I know I posted briefly about this yesterday, but I cannot get enough. I take care of 8 toddlers Monday through Friday and I love it. I would love it even more if I was paid 40+ hours a week! Sure, you would have to deal with bratty children and biotch mothers, but I already do that. This show is going to be a new obsession fo sho.

{favorite drink}

Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks. I absolutely love summer, but lately I've been craving skinny jeans, boots, sweaters, scarves, and a delicious PSL. Once fall rolls around, I drop way too much dough at Starbucks on my beloved drink. I don't want to bring on the cold weather too quickly, but I am pretty gosh darn excited for this bad boy.

{favorite future fur baby}

Pomsky! I know, again, another thing I've already shared this week, but my pomsky obsession is growing quickly. When I saw this little nugget on Pinterest, it was love at first sight. But when I showed Justin the picture and he agreed it was adorable, I knew it was meant to be! A pomsky is a mix between a Pomeranian and a Siberian Husky, and doesn't get much bigger than a Pom. I, admittedly am a small dog lover, but I was afraid I would never be able to convince Justin to turn Team Small Dogs. But since we both agree on these adorable Pomskies, it's a deal. Now I just need to find a breeder! In my best baby voice, I just want to yell "pomsky womsky nugget!" I know I'm weird. I'm accepting name suggestions for my future fur child.

{favorite thing I'm waiting on}

My Erin Condren Life Planner!!! It's supposed to arrive today and I could not be more excited. I am a sucker for anything organizing, and the LP is a planner on steroids. I'm so excited to get beyond organized so I can stop forgetting important things!

HAPPY FRIDAY LOVELY LADIES! Enjoy your much deserved weekend!

A Little Pick-Me-Up

Yesterday, I had an extremely emotional day. Like crying at work, emotional day. My job is extremely rewarding, but so difficult at the same time. Nothing breaks my heart more than seeing my kiddos, whom I love like they're my own, being abused and neglected by their own mothers! As you can imagine, I want to strangle mothers on the daily.

But anywho, to get my mind off of all things depressing and to make myself giggle, I turned to one of my favorite websites. This website just makes me feel so good about myself and you know why if you've ever visited People of Walmart. So let's take some time to make fun of awkwardly strange people as I share with you my favorite finds. And if you think I'm beyond awful for making fun of people, then just stop reading now. Like I said, it was an awful day and I don't give a flying you-know-what....

Nothing say "Baby, will you marry me?" like a proposal at the Customer Services desk.

Rawr! I'm going to buy J and I matching tiger t-shirts. I think it's a good look.

They're sexy and they know it.

Hold up, hold up. Who took my pants?!

 Belly button's need to breathe too.

Is she wearing pants?

Don't you ever wonder about people? Like seriously wonder what is going on in their heads? Listen, I'm all about people expressing their individuality, but there's a fine line between individuality and having no respect for yourself. Pretty sure all of the above ran right across that line. Well, maybe except for the elderly couple in matching t-shirts. They're just trying to be cute. Failing at it, but at least they're trying.

And on a completely different note...

I watched Beverly Hills Nannies last night and I must say, I seriously thought about quitting my job, moving to Beverly Hills, and getting a super awesome nanny job. Let's be honest, who wouldn't want to work for a family who pays $40/hour, takes you on all their amazing vacations, and buys you a brand new Audi?! I'm down!

A Blonde's Best Friend

If you're a blondie, like myself, this post is for you! If you're not a blondie, I'm sorry.

Alright, my blonde sisters, lets talk purple shampoo! If you have never heard of purple shampoo, you need to read every single word of this post because it will change your life, and your golden locks, FOREVER!

What is purple shampoo? Only the best invention to ever grace the showers of us blonde women. We have all had those moments when we look in the mirror and notice that our blonde locks look a little...well...yellow. No one wants yellow hair! Enter purple shampoo! Purple shampoo deposits violet pigment into the hair to neutralize brassy tones in blonde, gray, and white hair. You may be asking yourself how does violet pigment neutralize brassy tones? The answer is simple! Color theory! (Which was explained to me during my years working in hair salons) Yellow and violet are across from each other on the color wheel (a.k.a. opposites...duh!) and therefore, cancel each other out.

The first time I was introduced to color shampoos in general was when I had the brilliant idea to go brunette. I was working at a salon at the time and had picked out a gorgeous auburn color. I was so excited to rock the dark locks when my hairstylist/co-worker and I found out my hair is extremely porous! This means my hair soaks up color. So instead of that gorgeous auburn color, my hair was awkward shades of black and orange. PERFECT! After hours of color correction, my co-worker sent me home with a bottle of Paul Mitchell color depositing shampoo for brunettes. It worked wonders at neutralizing that ugly orange color in my hair.

Fast forward a few years to when I came to my senses and realized I looked awful as a brunette and went back to my blonde roots. I grew up in the country with well water, and if you too have well water, you know the rust in the water can turn your platinum locks yellow fast! I also noticed my hair turning yellow in the summer when I spent a lot of time in the sun and pool. I remembered my good experience with color depositing shampoo and picked up some Redken Blonde Glam Pure Pearl, a color depositing treatment. This was thee best product for platinum blondes and a piece of my heart died the day they discontinued it.

My personal fave in the purple shampoo department is Joico Color Endure Violet Shampoo, which can be bought at Ulta stores. This shampoo also has a matching conditioner, but I find that the shampoo alone does the trick for me. Simply lather it into your hair, let sit for 3-5 minutes, and then rinse! Warning! If you use purple shampoo too often, it will turn your hair a nasty gray color. It is recommended that you use purple shampoo no more than 2-3 times a week.

So all my blondies, do yourself a favor and drive yourself to the nearest Ulta/hair salon/beauty supply store and buy yourself a bottle of purple shampoo. You will thank me when your gorgeous highlights (that we know we spend a fortune on) look fresh and brass-free weeks after visiting the salon.

Product Review and Giveaway

Ever since I began blogging, I have heard nothing but amazing things about the cosmetic line, e.l.f., especially from one of my favorite bloggers The Bargain Blonde. e.l.f. Cosmetics is an extremely affordable product line that can be found at stores like Target, K Mart, and Walmart, and also has an online store that features the entire cosmetic collection. And when I say e.l.f. is extremely affordable, I mean it! Almost all of e.l.f. Cosmetics are under $10, and a majority of their products range from $1-$3! If you've never tried e.l.f. products before, you're probably skeptical like I was. How can a product so cheap be any good? Oh, let me tell you...they're amazing!

Recently, while going on an unnecessary shopping spree at Target, I picked up e.l.f. Studio Cream Eyeliner in black for $3. I had never tried a cream eyeliner before, but at $3, I couldn't pass it up! I've tried Smashbox's cream eyeliner at Sephora before, but I couldn't begin to justify spending $22 on eyeliner! Anywhooo, I took this bad boy home, and immediately fell in love.

This cream eyeliner claims to be long lasting, and let me tell you, it really is. The first day I wore it, it went through the test of all tests. I'm talking a 100+ degree weather, no air conditioning for 8 hours while taking care of toddlers, humidity and sweat galore kind of test. And the results? My eyeliner looked exactly the same as when I put it on 16 hours earlier! No smudges, fading, or running!

This cream eyeliner is extremely pigmented, which I love, and super easy to apply. Using the precision eyeliner brush that comes with it, you can easily create a thin or bold line! And because I love this cream eyeliner so much, I am giving away an e.l.f. Studio Cream Eyeliner in Black to one lucky reader! But that's not all! Because I love Target so much, the winner will also receive a $15 Target gift card that can be used to stock up on some amazing e.l.f products! Use Rafflecopter below to enter. This giveaway ends Monday, July 16th at midnight EST, so get your entries in! Good luck!

Sunday Social

Join me in linking up with Neely and Ashley for another week of Sunday Social! This weeks theme: TV!

Favorite TV show of the past...
Full House

Hellooooo Uncle Jesse! If you didn't love this show growing up, then you aren't human. I wanted to be part of the Tanner family. Except for when Danny had his overly emotional/awkward heart-to-hearts with his girls. And this show is even better now knowing that Danny Tanner/Bob Saget is really a creeptastic, pervert in real life.

Favorite TV show currently...
Keeping Up With the Kardashians
Real Housewives of Orange County

I love anything and everything reality. The Kardashians and The Real Housewives are my absolute favorite TV shows...hands down. I just can't get enough of the drama!

Which reality show would you NEVER do?
The Bachelor/Bachelorette

I'm actually not even really sure how this show is still going on? Hasn't season after season proven that it doesn't work! Yes, I do love seeing all the cray cray people who end up on these shows, but that's why I would never be on the show...crazies.

Which reality show would you LOVE to do?
Real Housewives...obviously!

Be honest with yourself, would you not love to be ridiculously rich, sip on ridiculously expensive wine, go on amazing vacations, and dress up in designer gowns just to have dinner at a friends?!? I think this is my life calling...

TV personality/ character that you feel is most like you...
Kourtney Kardashian (pre-Mason)

I say pre-Mason because she's kinda gone bitch-mode since she popped out a child. Poor Scott. But I like to say Kourt is my soul sister. Maybe it's just because I want to be her (and I wouldn't mind being blessed with her beauty). We both have the oldest child thing going on. I love my clothes, shoes, handbags, accessories and so does she. The only difference there is she can afford to drop thousands and I, obviously, can't. Kourt is hilarious (in my opinion) and I like to think I can crack a few good jokes every now and then. In reality, we probably aren't that similar at all, but in my fantasy world, I make myself believe we are twins, so there we have it!

TV character you'd want to date...
Shemar Moore from Criminal Minds

He's just nice to look at. No other words needed.
