An Announcement

If you think I'm going to tell you I'm preggo, you're only half right. I am currently preggo with a food baby -- that's what a weekend of birthday treats and birthday dinners will do to you. Also, this plate of mac and cheese I just devoured didn't help at all...

But there really is a pregnancy announcement I need to make. This girl right here will officially be an aunt this October! Now that all the important people (you know, family) know the big news, I can share with you all that my sister will be popping out a little one in 6 months! Since I found out, my mind has been reeling with all of the goodies I need to spoil my future neice or nephew with -- p.s. you heard it here, I'm convinced it's a girl.

Okay, I love my future niece/nephew, but I won't be spending $60 on a pair of moccasins for a child who will outgrow them in a matter of months. So, with these adorable mocs as inspiration, I will find a more afforadable pair for the nugget. They are so cute!

Every child needs a pair twelve pairs of adorable leggings. When I have children, they will live in them! This Etsy shop, littlefourclothing, has the most adorable printed leggings for the little one's in our lives.

Every little girl needs adorable flower headbands. If I have a niece, she will have millions. Even if my sister refuses to put flowers in her hair, she will always be wearing a headband when she's with me.

I am beyond excited for this new addition to our family and I can't wait to meet the little one! These next six months are going to be looooong.

All of you momma's, momma's-to-be, and aunties....what baby goodies do I need to get for my future niece or nephew?

Happy Monday, lovlies!

If I Were a Real Housewife

Riley and I took a little drive after Justin's baseball game around this gorgeous neighborhood. Beautifully built houses surrounded the bluest lake I've seen in these parts of Michigan. I immediately started daydreaming about what it would be like to live in that neighborhood with perfectly cut lawns and houses with rooms upon rooms.

Then I came home and watched the Original Gangsters of The Real Housewives -- that's The Real Housewives of OC for those of you who don't partake in such trash. I got to thinking. If I were a Real Housewife, what would my life look like?

Maybe a little something like this...

Justin and I would live in a big house with lots and lots of windows and stone detailing. Windows are really important to me -- the more natural light, the better.

We would have a pool in our backyard because if there's one thing I hate, it's laying out with a bunch of strangers around me. This girl needs to tan in private!

I would have the perfect white kitchen to cook up all sorts of meals. The more space, the better!

My closet would be an OCD person's dream. Neatly organized -- a place for everything and everything in it's place. If there is one thing that gets under my skin, it's a messy closet. Justin would have a matching closet, which means we would need to go on a major shopping spree to fill his up.

Inside my closet, near the best natural lighting obviously, would be my makeup table filled with endless amounts of makeup. It will be like my own personal Ulta. That right there is heaven!

We would have the most adorable children who are always dressed impeccably from the moment they are born. They'll also be amazing athletes. No doubt about that.

We would adopt a child -- or twelve -- from Africa. Actually, I might just turn into Angelina Jolie and adopt a child from every country.

We would take family vacations in Bora Bora at least twice a year -- once in the dead of Winter, and of course for Spring Break.

Welp, if that isn't a super materialistic list, then I don't know what is! If you were a Real Housewife, what would your life look like?

Meet Riley

Hi Blogland! My name is Riley. Mom also calls me Riles, Ry, or Little Man. I respond to any of them. Heck, I would respond if you called me anything -- I don't really know my own name yet. My mom took me home Friday night after a date night with Pops. They weren't planing on adopting me, but what can I say? I'm a cute little one. It was love at first sight.

I'm two months old and a mere 2 pounds, but I have energy for days. My big brother Charlie is afraid of me, even though he's at least 8 times bigger than me. It's probably because he's a cat. I try to play with him, but he just runs away and watches me from the stairs.

I'm sure he'll warm up to me eventually...
I'm not potty trained yet, but who cares. YOLO! The great thing is the carpet in the apartment is already so disgusting that you can't even tell where I've had an accident. I like to be optimistic about things. Mom's trying to potty train me, and so far I've been doing good, but I like to leave a few surprises every now and then. Being perfect would be boring, right?

I love taking walks. My little legs move at the speed of light, but I still don't get very far. I made it all the way to end of the street and back last night -- five whole driveways! I took a looooooong nap after that one.

Speaking of naps, they're my favorite -- except for trying to eat my own poop (I'll grow out of it). I take some bomb naps. They're so great, I even drool.... all over Mom's arms. Sometimes, I even fall asleep sitting up.

Most of all, I'm happy to have a new family to love on me. Life is good as a puppy. Y'all best keep your eyes open for pictures of me, because who doesn't love puppies? You'll follow Mom on Instagram if you know what's best for you.

Glitter and Chevron and Pink... Oh My!

I found the above image while perusing Pinterest and I said to myself, "Self, let's try this!" I usually stick to a solid color when I do my nails, but this fun mani was something I couldn't pass up. So I grabbed the goods and got to work.

What you need:
Gelous Advance Nail Gel Coat or a normal base coat (go here to see how I use this product in a mani)
Out The Door Top Coat
A color polish -- I chose Essie's Watermelon
White polish -- I used Essie's Marshmellow
Black polish -- I used Nicole by OPI in Hard Kourt Fashionista from the Kardashian Kolors line
Chevron nail decals
Loose glitter.

Steps:
1) After using a normal base coat or the Gelous system on your middle fingers, paint the nails with your white polish. You want to make sure to do these nails first so that they have plenty of time to dry before adding the chevron patten.
2) I chose to paint my pinkies, pointer fingers and thumbs next. Make sure to do a base coat (or Gelous system) before applying the nail color. Finish off these nails with a top coat.
3) Now, time for the glitter! I used left over loose glitter I bought at Michaels. Paint your ring finger on one hand with a base coat, or two coats of the Gelous Advance Gel Coat. Quickly, sprinkle loose glitter onto the nail before the base coat dries. Gently press the glitter into the polish and brush off excess. Seal the glitter with two coats of a top coat or two coats of the Gelous. Repeat on your other hand.
4) Chevron time. You have two options here. You can either cut the chevron nail decals to fit your nail and seal it with two layers of top coat or you can do what I did. I've found that the nail decals peel off very easily, no matter how many layers of top coat I use. After placing the nail decals onto my nail, I took black polish and painted over the entire nail. Then, very slowly and gently, pull the decals off your nail. Let dry and seal with a top coat.

And there you have it! The final result...

TIPS:
- Make sure the black polish is completely dry before applying a top coat. As you can see, I thought I had given my nails enough time to dry, but did not which resulted in the polish bleeding a bit. Oops!
- This mani takes time. Don't rush it! And make sure you have plenty of time. It's a great project while watching a movie.
- Give the white polish at least an hour to dry. If you don't, the polish will come off when you peel the decals off.

So, what do you think?! Is this a mani you would rock?

Go Shawty, It's Yo Birthday

...okay so not yet. But my birthday is right around the corner! Friday, the 26th I'll be turning the big 2-4. 24 is going to be a big year for me -- you know, getting married and all. And why not start off this new year in my life with a bang? So, I've put together a wishlist of everything that would make my birthday oh so special.

The first item, and most important, on the list? This little nugget:

Her name is Missy-somethin-or-another, but I would rename her Sadie. Sadie Belle, to be exact. There's me trying to be Southern -- sigh. She's a Morkie and the most perfect nugget I've ever laid eyes on. I send J pictures of her frequently so he doesn't forget what she looks like when he goes to pick her up.

Here are some other items on my Birthday Wishlist -- or life wishlist in general, because let's be honest, who get's everything on their wishlists these days?

Why I've been MIA....

I remember when I used to loved blogging. I really don't anymore. I loved having a place where I could talk about fashion, make-up, all things girly with other bloggers. It was nice having a community of girls from all over the country who I could get to know and who supported me.

Maybe I was oblivious to it or maybe it really has all of a suddent appeared, but the dynamics of Blogland have really changed. There is so much hatred floating around. I told myself I wasn't going to get involved -- even though the social worker in me fought hard to come out and stand up for people. I told myself I wasn't going to say anything about it. I told myself I wasn't going to let it affect me. But it has.

It's completely ruined my passion for blogging. I find that I have no desire to write blog posts anymore. No desire to be creative. No desire to share what's going on in my life.

I've gone so far as to delete toxic people from social media and from my blog reader. I hate that I have had to do that. I still love reading uplifting blogs -- girls who truly write about their passion and don't get caught up in the drama. It's sad that women I looked up to in the beginning of my blogging adventure are now women I'm ashamed of.

We're supposed to be a community. A group of individuals who come together in this place we called Blogland to discuss and share our lives, our passions, our beliefs. We're not supposed to put each other down.

I'm quite honestly disgusted at the way people have treated one another. And for that reason, I haven't put much effort into my little corner of the internet. Hopefully one day soon I'll be able to find my passion again and get back to something I found much joy in. I just thought I owed it to my readers to explain why I've been MIA these days.

What ever happened to the little virtue "Treat others the way you would want to be treated?"

Scan That Bad Boy

I'm on Spring Break this week so Justin and I decided to crack down on wedding planning. On the top of our list? Starting our Wedding Registry! So today we headed on over to my first love, Target, to get going.

The moment we were handed the hand scanner, it went downhill. I'm surprised we didn't scan every single thing in the store. Our motto? "Someone's going to want to get us this!" I'm pretty sure today's festivities has been, hands down, my favorite part of wedding planning. Here are some things we added to the list:

Obviously, a KitchenAid Mixer! Justin said it was too expensive for our register to which I gasped and replied, "A KitchenAid Mixer is on the top of EVERY wedding registry!"Am I right ladies, or am I right?

The most adorable Beverage Dispenser with a chalkboard label. This thing is screaming for some Sweet Tea. I need this. Like yesterday...

Oh, just a cookwear set -- because you kinda really do need it. Not so exciting...

Our list told us to register for a digital camera, so we did. I really wanted a DSLR, but Justin told me no one's going to buy us a $500 camera -- sigh. So we settled for this cutie. Perfect for taking with us on our honeymoon.

We registered for all white, porcelain dishware -- clean and classic. We went a little crazy in that aisle, scanning every white porcelain dish we could find.

Some of the things Justin took upon himself to scan....

But only one racquet.

What was your favorite item on your wedding registry?

Nuggets Wanted

Hi, my name is Jenna and I'm addicted to nuggets.

{via}
But not just any nuggets. I'm addicted to the smallest of all small dogs. I love puppies, and dogs that look like puppies forever are just my type. I just can't handle big dogs...

#sorrynotsorry

Yesterday, after Justin and I stuffed our faces with Sonic, we stopped by a pet store just to look at the puppies. That's when it all happened. My nugget fever came back full force. You see, I've been needing wanting a nugget in my life for.ev.er. Back in college, I entered a free puppy contest every. single. month. for two years. Apparently I'm not a lucky person. But the good news is, my birthday is the 26th of this month and I personally think it would be fabulous if Justin would gift me a nugget of my own. Agreed?

Meet my future nugget. I will name her Sadie and she will have adorable bows in her hair. Although, her bows will not be as gigantic as the one above. She's so perfect! I think she would look adorable in my arms.

Some other nuggets I would never be able to say no to...

People hate on tiny dogs, but they need love to! And this girl is more than happy to love on one. Donations for Jenna's Nugget Fund are always welcomed....just kidding!

....actually I'm not kidding.
