Get to Know Me: Fall Edition

I could sit here and say that fall is my favorite season of the year, but if I were being honest with myself, I say that about every season. Except for winter. I only like winter for the first snow and Christmas. After that, it can scram. But regardless of all of that mumbo-jumbo, I still really love fall.

Couple that with the fact that I have been MIA from Blogland for nearly 3 months, I think it's time for a Get to Know Me: Fall Edition.

1) I hate Halloween. Like hate, hate hate. I hate Halloween for many reasons. First, I don't understand the desire to dress up all whorish just to get black-out drunk. Hell, give me some tequila and I'll get drunk without showing my hoo-ha to every Tom, Dick, and Harry, who are more than likely to SnapChat that ish to their entire fraternity. Second, trick-or-treating is for the adorable children in their dragon and princess costumes. Not the annoying high schoolers "dressed up" in their football uniform. Save the candy for the children, ya losers. Third, it's a stupid holiday. I have no reason for that statement. It just is. BOOM [dramatic mic drop]

And with that said... y'all have fun tonight!
2) I love pumpkin everything. But I also like to point out that my love of pumpkin came way before the white girl Pumpkin Spice Latte craze (which I love as well -- no shame in my game). For as long as I can remember, my mom has made eleventy-thousand pumpkin pies every fall and you better believe I ate every.single.one with extra whipped cream on top. Pumpkin candles, pumpkin coffee, pumpkin cheesecake....hell, roll me in a can of pumpkin puree and I'll be in heaven.

3) I fully believe that Thanksgiving night should be spent pulling out the Christmas decorations. Again, another family thing -- we always pulled out the Christmas decorations on Thanksgiving night. In my mind, Thanksgiving will always be the last day of fall and the beginning of the Christmas season. If there's one thing I love more than pumpkin, it's Christmas!

4) The changing of leaves makes me emotional. It's like I'm that mother looking back on her children's baby pictures with tears in her eyes. I'm not sure why the changing of leaves does that to me. Apparently I'm emotionally unstable. I'm still waiting for the trees to change colors, but Indiana is taking it's sweet time.

5) I feel bad when I step on crunchy leaves. I know some people who will go out of their way to step on a crunchy leaf. Nope, not this girl. I'll go out of my way to avoid a crunchy leaf. Maybe it's because I hate when leaves turn into little pieces of annoyingness that seem to get tracked all over the dang place. Or maybe because I feel like it's inhumane...err, inleafmane? How would you feel if you were all old and wrinkly, dead on the ground, and someone just stomped on you. Yeah, that's what I thought.

And now you all know just how weird I really am!

Happy Thursday, ladies!

Fall Dresses

Sorry I've been MIA in Bloggerville lately (not that you missed me or anything!) but I've been so busy showing off my bling to some of my best girlfriends!

Just in case you wanted to see it again!
I'm currently depressed. Why you ask? Because yesterday on my lunch break I dropped my baby, my ring, off at the jewelers to get sized. The jeweler I talked to on Sunday told me he would have it done in a couple days, so you can understand my shock and anger when random homeboy working yesterday told me I'll have it in a week. I literally almost punched him. The jeweler better start working on my ring as soon as he gets in today so I can have it back in my promised two days! How do they expect a girl to wait a whole week?!?

Anywho....

Yesterday was a great day (besides having to drop off my ring) because it was the first day I wore boots! Ahhh, my heart was happy. All of this crips, fall weather has me in the fall outfit mood, and there's nothing I'm loving more than a fall dress/skirt. It was all inspired by this picture I found while wasting my time looking at Pinterest...

I'm all about the sweater over a dress/skirt, leggings, and boots. And don't forget a fab scarf! Now that I won't be working with kiddos this fall/winter (...and now I'm heartbroken and depressed all over again. So much for trying to stay positive) I'll be rocking this look all day, errr day! Well, that is if I even have the funds to go shopping!

Here are some other Pinterest fall dress finds that I'm loving...

(We might as well pretend like it's Wednesday and I'm linking up with OHP)

Great way to turn a summer dress into a fall outfit

A little inappropriate for the workplace (unless you want your coworkers to whisper behind your back) but cute for the weekends!
LOVE the splash of color!
You can find all of these outfits on my Dream Closet Board on Pinterest.

What style are you looking forward to wearing this fall?

Changing of Seasons

"How beautifully leaves grow old.
How full of light and
color are their
last days."
-John Burroughs

I'm sure you're all get tired of the "I can't wait for Fall" blog posts, but you're going to get another one! Sorry I'm not sorry. I absolutely love the Fall. Watching the leaves turn brilliant shades of yellow, orange, and red warms my soul. The changing of trees, in my opinion, is one of the most beautiful things in this world.

Another reason I love the Fall? FASHION! I love layering, sweaters, boots, scarves, jackets...ahh give me!

And so this blog post is dedicated to some looks I'm loving for this Fall!

[All images found on Pinterest]

As of Thursday, this will be my new hair color. As much as I love my platinum blonde locks, I need to be true to my darker roots in the Fall/Winter months. I love how soft and blended this color is!

I love olive green colored anything for Fall, especially on blondes! And how adorbs is this jacket? I'm dying to have this in my closet, but thanks to the downfall of Pinterest, I can't find the original link! If any of you lovelies know where I can find this jacket, help a sister out!

I love everything about this outfit. Opaque tights, a more form-fitting skirt, and boots is such a cute combination! This is definitely a look I'll be rocking this fall. And I love that tights/leggings allow me to wear skirts to work without showing my goods to the world every time I climb over a baby gate or sit on the floor.

I'm all about comfort in the Fall/Winter months, and this sweater makes me want to do nothing more than curl up on the couch with a good book and a cup of coffee. Too bad this one is particular costs $650. Cray cray! I'm sure I can find one similar for 20 bucks at Forever 21...

Ahh...Tory, get in my closet! If you really knew me you would know I'm obsessed with boots. OBSESSED. I'm glad my new room in our new apartment is going to have a walk-in closet to accommodate my boot obsessions, otherwise I wouldn't leave my spacious closet I have now. I can't get enough of Chestnut colored riding boots. I see a few new pairs in my near future.

Chunky scarves + jackets = perfection. I don't have anything else to say about this. Just. Perfection.

Not only am I obsessed with boots, but I'm also beyond obsessed with scarves. I own too many and am always buying a new one! I'm always trying to find new ways to wear my scarves to shake things up a bit. I've recently come across the belted scarf and I am in love! I love this look with a thick belt, but my favorite is the belted scarf with a skinny belt. It also looks amazing with an infinity scarf.

Now I just want to go shopping for my Fall wardrobe...

What styles are you excited to wear this Fall?
